To install the connection, position it over the inline connector, pull the loose tab on the plastic core while unwinding the core in a counterclockwise direction, allowing the ends of the tube to shrink and form a secure seal. The core and tube sizing, combined with sealing mastic at each end, allow for a broader application range while preserving the seal and insulation properties of the EPDM rubber tube. Designed for primary insulation of solid dielectric insulated wires and cable splices rated up to 1000 volts, the insulators allow for direct burial or submersible applications. They are easy to install by hand, requiring no additional tools or heating sources. Accommodating a variety of cable sizes, 3M™ Cold Shrink Quick Insulator QI Series provides reliable thermal stability, high chemical resistance, and a water-resistant seal that meets the standard for ANSI C-119.1.
