Product Information: The Scotch-Brite™ SL Surface Conditioning Roll is a durable, aggressive non-woven roll that balances flexibility with aggressive cutting action. The abrasive material blends and finishes consistently – often in one step..

Balancing Flexibility and Durability
Among our surface conditioning abrasives, the Scotch-Brite™ SL Surface Conditioning Roll falls right in the middle of the spectrum in terms of its durability and flexibility. Balancing both of these elements makes it a good match for medium-duty projects on hard metals. Examples of applications may include intermediate blending, deburring, finishing and cleaning on stainless steel, carbon steel, titanium and nickel alloys. All Scotch-Brite™ SL Surface Conditioning Rolls utilize aluminum oxide mineral, but they vary in grade: Super Duty (SD), Heavy Duty (HD), Coarse (CRS) and Medium (MED).

A Responsive Roll
To engineer this Scotch-Brite™ roll, we combine non-woven nylon fibers and mineral with resin. Mixing non-woven nylon fibers, which are springy and responsive, with mineral is an ideal way to add a great finish or remove burrs without gouging or undercutting the workpiece. We also include a woven fabric (scrim) in our conditioning products, which is embedded in the nylon structure to provide additional strength and durability for edge work.

Benefits of Aluminum Oxide Mineral
Scotch-Brite™ SL Surface Conditioning Roll uses coarse grade aluminum oxide abrasive. Aluminum oxide is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its cut rate and long life. This mineral is a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges in use, whereas traditional abrasives, such as garnet, quickly wear down with use. Due to its high cut rate, hardness, strength, and low heat retention, aluminum oxide mineral is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing.

Designed for Versatility and Custom Uses
One of the greatest attributes of Scotch-Brite™ SL Surface Conditioning Roll is that it can be cut and shaped to meet project needs. Whether the material is used on a hand block or driven by a pneumatic or electric power tool – it’s equipped to deliver a fine, consistent finish.
