Product Overview
Removes Unwanted Coatings
Scotch-Brite™ Clean and Strip Unitized Block is uniquely suited for applications like coating removal. Its durable unitized construction won't yield or deflect to surface irregularities, ensuring an ongoing, aggressive cut. While silicon carbide abrasive breaks down faster than aluminum oxide, it produces a brighter finish. It cuts sharply as an abrasive paint remover and also effectively removes scale, rust, surface contaminants, coatings, weld discoloration and splatter.
Resists Loading
The product’s open web helps with the loading that is commonly found in high-production environments and during soft coating removal. Gaps between the nylon fibers permit debris to escape, minimizing loading and premature clogging — which, in turn, prolongs abrasive service life. As the fibers break down, they reveal fresh, sharp mineral, so you get a consistent cut — part after part.
Discover the Scotch-Brite™ Advantage
Nonwoven technology makes our Scotch-Brite™ abrasives unique. We intersperse abrasive mineral on synthetic fibers using resin — creating an open web construction. Spaces between the fibers permit excess material to escape, so the mineral does not become worn down by debris. It keeps the mineral cutting sharper longer, enhancing cut performance and increasing abrasive service life. The spring-like nature of the fibers works well on contours and responds to subtleties on the surface. Its responsive design effectively removes unwanted burrs, soils and contaminants without ruining the base material, so you get a consistent and uniform finish — part after part.
