Product Overview
Finish and Repair Sensitive Surfaces
3M™ Trizact™ Hookit™ Film Sheet 568XA is used to create abrasive discs and belts with defect repair in mind. Sensitive surfaces like glass, acrylic and corian require an abrasive that cuts aggressively without significantly gouging or scratching the surface. This sheet features microreplicated pyramids of natural cerium oxide grains, which cut consistently and produces a high gloss level that’s desirable during surface finishing. The 2.0 mil. film backing is water resistant for touch-ups and debris removal.
Swift Tool Attachment
Abrasives made from 3M™ Trizact™ Hookit™ Film Sheet 568XA can work in spaces where adhesive-backed abrasives may become contaminated by dust or debris thanks to the hook-and-loop attachment system. This product sticks to your tools even in dusty conditions, and can be removed cleanly and easily, which allows these products to be reused again and again for the extent of the abrasive life. When paired with a 3M™ Hookit™ backup pad this attachment provides both optimal performance and convenience.
The Trizact™ Advantage
3M™ Trizact™ abrasives revitalize light dimensioning and finishing work by reducing processing steps, increasing throughput and creating consistency. Big benefits are achieved through a proprietary 3M technology called microreplication. During microreplication, small three-dimensional structures resembling pyramids are adhered to a backing. These “pyramids” contain layers of mineral, and they begin to break down after repeated use, continually exposing fresh mineral. The cycle of mineral renewal sustains the abrasive’s sharpness. Ongoing sharp cutting action reduces the need to swap out the abrasive, contributing to higher throughput and increased productivity. Additionally, because the mineral is uniformly distributed over the abrasive surface, the workpiece receives fixed – rather than erratic– contact for a consistent cut.
