Product Overview
Excellent Fine Finishing Results on a Variety of Surfaces
Our Scotch-Brite™ Hookit™ Production Clean and Finish Roll is designed to help you achieve a professional finish on solid surfaces, painted panels, and other materials. It features Very Fine (VFN) grade aluminum oxide mineral on a non-woven 3D web of fibers to produce excellent finishing results. Cut the roll to a custom size for hand sanding tricky areas or for use on an oscillating machine.
Denser Non-Woven Material Provides Increased Durability
This open-web roll delivers all the great benefits you expect from Scotch-Brite products — it conforms to uneven surfaces and leaves an incredibly consistent finish without undercutting the workpiece — but is engineered with increased stiffness to provide added durability for heavy-duty applications. Compared to our standard Scotch-Brite™ Clean and Finish Roll, this roll is denser and more resistant to tearing. Choose this roll for medium-pressure cleaning, scratch blending and creating satin finishes on aluminum, stainless steel and other metals. It is also suitable for use on plastics, wood and fiberglass.
Fast Cut and Long Life
Aluminum oxide is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut-rate and long life. This mineral makes a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, whereas traditional natural abrasives dull more quickly. Due to its fast cut-rate, hardness, and strength, it is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing applications. Aluminum oxide is suitable for a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.
Hookit™ Backing for Easy Tool Attachment
One great benefit of Scotch-Brite™ Hookit™ Production Clean and Finish Roll is that it includes a Hookit™ backing. Hookit™ abrasives work well in spaces where adhesive-backed discs may become contaminated by dust or dirt. Hookit™ abrasives conveniently attach to hook-and-loop backup pads (sold separately), can be removed cleanly and easily, and can be re-used again and again for the extent of the abrasive life. The backing consists of small loops that are formed when tufts of material are pulled through the abrasive’s scrim. These loops subsequently attach to hooks on the backup pad. Altogether, the system expedites tool attachment.
The Scotch-Brite™ Advantage
Non-woven technology makes our Scotch-Brite™ industrial abrasives unique. A combination of fiber strands, resin, and abrasive mineral forms a thick, open web. The spring-like nature of the fibers responds to contours and effectively removes unwanted burrs, soils and contaminants while maintaining the geometry of the workpiece. This in turn reduces rework and boosts productivity. Gaps in the web allow swarf to escape, limiting clogging of the abrasive. Fibers in the web continually break down with use to reveal fresh mineral for consistency, great cut performance and long service life. From aesthetic finishing to weld blending, deburring and more, Scotch-Brite™ abrasives work fast and deliver consistent results, part after part.
