Product Overview
Use This Light-Duty Flexible Sheet to Clean, Finish, Blend, and Polish
Use our Scotch-Brite™ KS Clean and Finish Roll for applications that require a dense, thick web to achieve clean surfaces for paints, sealers or other coatings. These sheets have the flexibility needed to match contoured surfaces that require maintenance and repair, and do the job without damaging the underlying part. Ideal for light to moderate cleaning and surface preparation prior to paint or sealant, sheets can be folded or cut to size for custom techniques and used on solid surfaces, painted panels, and other materials. Scotch-Brite™ KS Clean and Finish sheets work well on aluminum, stainless steel and other metals, and are also suitable for use on plastics, wood and fiberglass. They can be rinsed for repeated use.
Choose Mid-Range Density for a Step Up in Durability
The roll is created from a non-woven 3D web of fibers that offers consistent results and helps prevent loading for extra long life. It delivers all the great benefits you expect from Scotch-Brite™ products—the web conforms to uneven surfaces and leaves an incredibly consistent finish without undercutting the workpiece—but is engineered with increased stiffness to provide added durability when you need it. Compared to our standard Scotch-Brite™ Clean and Finish Sheets, these sheets are denser and more resistant to tearing, while they are less heavy-duty than the Scotch-Brite™ Production Clean and Finish Sheet. Open web sheets have the added advantage of producing a finish similar to steel wool, without rusting or leaving metal splinters behind.
Create a Superior Finish with Fine or Ultra Fine Grade Abrasive
Our Scotch-Brite™ KS Clean and Finish Roll is available in in two grades. The S ULF sheet is a silicon carbide product equivalent to a dark gray Scotch-Brite™ 6448 Hand Pad, and is denser and more aggressive than other light-duty products such as our light gray Scotch-Brite™ 7448 Hand Pad. It leaves a finish comparable to Steel Wool #0000.
The A FIN sheet roll contains aluminum oxide and is comparable to our brown Scotch-Brite™ 6444 Hand Pad. It is a great choice for light-duty cleaning and surface finishing applications that require a more forceful scrubbing or sanding, such as removal of heavier contaminant. It leaves a finish comparable to Steel Wool #0.
Aluminum oxide is a tough mineral with a fast cut-rate and prolonged life over natural abrasives such as emory, making it a popular choice among industrial professionals for many different applications. Silicon carbide is a synthetic mineral that is very sharp and commonly used for low-pressure applications such as paint prep. While it breaks down faster than aluminum oxide, it produces a superior finish.
The Scotch-Brite™ Advantage
Nonwoven technology makes our Scotch-Brite™ abrasives unique. We intersperse abrasive mineral on synthetic fibers using resin – creating an open web construction. Spaces between the fibers permit excess material to escape, so the mineral does not become worn down by debris. It keeps the mineral cutting sharper longer, enhancing cut performance and increasing abrasive service life. The spring-like nature of the fibers works well on contours and responds to subtleties on the surface. Its responsive design effectively removes unwanted burrs, soils and contaminants without ruining the base material, so you get a consistent and uniform finish – part after part.
