Product Overview
An Easy-to-Process Tape for Challenging Applications
Excellent for laminating high performance plastics and difficult substrates, while delivering broad temperature resistance, 3M™ Double Coated Tape 9500 features a 1.0 mil black polyester film carrier for improved dimensional stability and handling – especially in die cutting and laminating applications. The carrier is coated on each side with 2.5 mils of 3M™ Adhesive 300, formulated for high tack and strong bond to challenging substrates including polypropylene, polyethylene and other low surface energy (LSE) plastics. This tape resists short-term temperatures from -40°F (-40°C) to 350°F (177°C). A 4.5 mil natural, unprinted polycoated kraft liner reduces edge burr and adds stability during processing such as hard tool die-cutting.
Recommended Applications
- Bonding low surface energy (LSE) plastics such as polypropylene and polyethylene
- High temperature applications
- Die cutting
- Laminating
About Our 3M™ Adhesive 300
3M™ Adhesive 300 affords excellent quick tack and bonds well to a variety of substrates including metals, high surface energy (HSE) plastics and low surface energy (LSE) plastics. This acrylic Adhesive 300 has been tested to ASTM procedures for peel adhesion, temperature and humidity as well as resistance to UV, fuels, acids and detergents. The high tack adhesive is also tested for adhesion on a range of surfaces including polypropylene, polyester, ABS, polycarbonate and stainless steel.
