Match Paint Colors with Greater Precision
Our 3M™ SUN GUN™ II Light Kit offers the following benefits to technicians or users attempting to match automotive or industrial paint colors:
Paint Department: Use the 3M™ PPS™ Color Match Film to spray out the selected color for evaluation. Once sprayed and dried, peel away from backing and stick to vehicle, stand back with the 3M™ Sun Gun™ II and shine from any angle. Regardless of existing weather and lighting conditions, no matter where the vehicle or substrate is located in the facility, the 3M™ SUN GUN™ II Light Kit will help the painter assess and select the paint that best represents the actual color of the vehicle or substrate being repaired.
In the event the color does not match, the 3M™ SUN GUN ™ II Light, will assist the painter in determining what is necessary to correct the mismatch, leading them closer to the correct match.
Detail Area: Identify post–paint defects such as swirl marks, burn through, sand scratches and dirt-nibs. The 3M™ SUN GUN™ II Light Kit helps to identify paint defects that can be corrected inside of the facility, without having to pull the vehicle or substrate outdoors to examine under natural sun light. The 3M™ SUN GUN™ II Light Kit will also assist in confirming that there are no defects before delivering the vehicle or substrate. This helps to avoid costly re-work and/or re-do's.
(Auto Body) Insurance Estimator: Assist in clearly identifying damaged areas prior to writing the estimate. The 3M™ SUN GUN™ II Light Kit helps the estimator to clearly evaluate and validate the damaged areas of the car prior to beginning the repair process. Regardless of weather conditions, no matter where the vehicle is located, no matter how poor the lighting conditions, the estimator can evaluate the damage without having to move the vehicle.
Body Technician: Identify pre-paint defects such as pin holes and sand scratches. The 3M™ SUN GUN™ II Light Kit makes it easier to see common defects such as pin-holes sand-scratches, etc., prior to primer, sealer, or basecoat application. This dramatically reduces the potential for re-work, re-dos or comebacks.
