Its electrolytic copper construction offers good conductivity and a tin-plated finish resists corrosion.. 3M™ Highland™ Vinyl Insulated Butted Seam Male Disconnect attaches to the mating part with a tongue that slips over the female tab. It has a butted-seam barrel that is covered by a funnel-designed, rigid-molded, polyvinyl chloride sleeve which serves to guide the wire into position. The polyvinyl chloride sleeve provides electrical contacts and mechanical stress relief at the point of insulation.
