Product Information: Scotch-Brite™ Flat Part Deburring Bonded Brush is a convolute brush designed for light-duty deburring applications. It's commonly used on stamped or laser cut parts, because its brush construction enables the abrasive to gently graze the tops of these surfaces without significantly gouging the surface or altering part geometry..

Choosing the Right Brush for You
Our Scotch-Brite™ Flat Part Deburring Bonded Brush is constructed of multiple discs bonded to a cylindrical core — either steel or fiberglass. Fiberglass brushes have a 6" diameter and have a 3" center hole. Steel brushes are larger and have a 12" diameter with a 5.75" center hole. The construction of the bonded brush makes it a good match for cleaning applications like deburring, because of how the discs are arranged: compressed together on a core. The outer diameters of the discs abrade the workpiece, so you get a more aggressive cut, especially on edges and contours. This process differs from a flap brush, for example, in which the flaps gently lap the surface – making these brushes a better fit for finishing. As the brush wears, brush density stays the same due to disc-style construction.

Each disc that is adhered to the Scotch-Brite™ Flat Part Deburring Bonded Brush features nylon web and abrasive mineral. Operators can choose from aluminum oxide or talc minerals. Aluminum oxide is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut and long service life. Moreover, this versatile mineral works well on many substrates, including ferrous and non-ferrous alloys. Talc, by comparison, is one of the softest synthetic minerals. When gouging or marring are primary concerns, talc is a good mineral to deburr or finish with, as it will not aggressively scratch the substrate.

The Many Benefits of Scotch-Brite™ Brushes
Scotch-Brite™ Brushes are versatile, high-performance brushes that help reduce the need for messy, technique-dependent buffing compounds. The long-lasting, precision-made brushes give you improved consistency and greater control over a number of critical metal prep and finishing tasks, including cleaning, stripping, deburring, polishing, aesthetic finishing and more. Engineered using proprietary 3M non-woven materials technology, Scotch-Brite™ brushes are available in a wide range of grades and brush constructions. This gives us the ability to tailor brush performance to your specific application requirements – unlike “all-purpose” brushes that may compromise quality, consistency or durability. And, because they provide more contact with the workpiece than bristle-type brushes, Scotch-Brite brushes last longer and can be run faster – helping you achieve higher throughput.
