Product Information: 3M™ E-A-R™ Express™ Pod Plugs™ feature advanced “no-roll” foam tips and paddle-style grips to make getting a good fit easier than ever.. The 3M™ E-A-R™ Express™ Pod Plugs™ Metal Detectable Earplugs feature surgical-grade, stainless steel ball bearings embedded in the grips to aid in locating the earplug if lost. Metal detectable earplugs were developed for food processing and other industries where it is critical to keep earplugs from contaminating products and processes. These “no-roll” style earplugs with paddle style grips provide quick, clean, and consistent placement of hearing protection. Simply pinch the grip between fingers and push to fit, which keeps the tip going into the ears clean even if hands are somewhat soiled with dirt, oil, grease, or some other contaminant. The unique foam formula aids in earplug insertion without rolling to keep fingers, plugs, and ears clean. The slow recovery foam inserts easily, and then seats and stays in place for comfortable hearing protection.
These earplugs have a Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) of 26 dB, CSA Class AL. However, research suggests that many users will receive less noise reduction than indicated by the NRR due to variation in earplug fit, earplug fitting skill, and motivation of the user. It is recommended that the NRR be reduced by 50% to better estimate typical workplace protection. These earplugs are test compatible with the 3M E-A-Rfit™ Validation System.
Not only is noise present in our daily routines and recreational activities, but millions of Americans work in hazardous noise on a daily basis. Estimates from the National Institutes of Health suggest that hearing loss afflicts 28 million Americans. About one third of those cases are at least partially attributable to noise. Hearing loss due to noise is almost entirely preventable by judicious use of hearing protection.
